This is my NEW CAPTAIN MORGAN"S HOME PAGE - Time moves on and I have made a new home page, the old one has been pushed down a level but is still just as interesting. My site is morphing into an exclusive collection of mini-sites, called Cameo Webs. To maintain my TOP PAGE status in Google and Yahoo I must maintain all the key words and page titles so must not rock the boat too much in the short term.
This web site is sixteen years old, yes 16 YEARS! I took my first lunge at making a web after an epic voyage around Cape Horn on a big, fat oilyrag of a bulk carrier. We had a braai (South African barbecue) in mid-winter going the "wrong" way around Cape Horn, Atlantic to Pacific, wind was SW Force 4 (numerous white caps, choppy) and temp +5°C, prime braai weather for The Horn! The site got old and dusty, it just ran out of steam. The big decision was to scrap the site or to re-motivate, re-awake and redesign the site. I got motivated! Dreamweaver and I, with help from my web-guru Janine Warner and her book Dreamweaver CS5 for Dummies rejuvenated the dusty old site! Dreamweaver is designermite! Had to wake my brain to use it. Now I am dabbling in HTML5 and CSS3!
Cameo Webs are my new invention! A World First! Cameo Webs are small sub-webs written by me or third party contributors who want some added exposure and are embedded in my site. I am planning to make a small, close-knit collection of Cameo Webs into an exclusive directory of sites that You and I find interesting. This should give my site more quality content for a better viewer experience as well as added exposure (fame?) for some third-party site. Please contribute an interesting article! Yes, YOU, for Free!
When you Google or Yahoo "Captain Morgan's Home Page" or "Captain Morgan's Home Page/Cameo Webs" you will see this site in the TOP PAGE of the seach results!! Not bad for a hobby site! Your hits are keeping it up there!
Cape Town, South Africa has been nominated as the "Design Captal of the World for 2014". WoW! We have an amazing amount of design talent in Cape Town and also the rest of South Africa that is not being used to anywhere near it's full extent. These designers are good! And hungry! Our Mayor was nominated as the Worlds Best Mayor a couple of years ago!
